The photo shows the river that passes through our small city, Manlleu. It is called “el Ter”, and this long river of 208 km passes through many other cities in Catalonia apart from ours.

This river is very pleasant and has a many ducks living in its waters, but it is not as clean as most Manlleu locals believe it is. A lot of people throw garbage down the streets or by the river, and when it rains or there is wind, that garbage ends up in the water. Moreover, there are some people who dump the plastic right in.

People should be more aware of the effects these acts can cause. I think we should get more involved in our river and start appreciating it.
