For Students

What is Counseling?

Counseling is a process, in which with the support of your counselor, you talk about your concerns to gain new understanding and skills to better handle them on your own. At ICU Counseling Center, our counselors are trained and experienced professionals who listen to you with an unbiased and non-judgmental stance. There are also bilingual counselors who speak both English and Japanese to satisfy the diverse needs of our ICU community.

Some common topics that students discuss include adjustment to ICU, academic performance, interpersonal relationships, self-awareness, career paths, and physical and mental health. For your further growth and success, we are here to help you with any personal or academic difficulties you may experience while at ICU.

Our counseling services are free of charge for all ICU students. We handle your privacy with the utmost care in accordance with the university regulations and other professional guidelines.
