Colorado Homeschool Enrichment (CHE) Partnership

To maintain standing with the CHE program (Velocity partnership), all IRMA scholars are mandated to attend the Thursday Clinical Science & Lab Day.

• Enrichment Commitment: Per CHE requirements, families must commit to at least 90 hours of enrichment per semester.

• Thursday Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:45 PM (6.75 contact hours).

• Semester Impact: Over an 18-week semester, IRMA’s Thursday block provides 121.5 hours, well exceeding the 90-hour minimum for program qualification.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW & ELIGIBILITY

Which programs do you offer for homeschooled students? We offer a curated Clinical Immersion Program that mirrors our Five-Phase Medical Pipeline. Homeschooled scholars gain access to our "Thursday Lab Days," "Friday Immersion Workshops," and "The Art of the Table" etiquette training.

Who is eligible to attend your program? Any homeschooled student in Grades 6 through 12 is eligible to apply for candidacy. However, because our curriculum is a proprietary immersion, all students must start at Phase I: The Medical Foundationalist to ensure they master the required medical vocabulary and sterile discipline.

Are there any minimum academic requirements? While we do not require a specific GPA for entry, scholars must demonstrate a high level of maturity and a commitment to the "Perseverance of the Scholar." A formal Admissions Consultation is required to assess the scholar’s readiness for a high-intensity laboratory environment.

LOGISTICS & CLASS STRUCTURE

On which day of the week will each class be held?

• Thursdays: The primary Clinical Science and Laboratory Day (held in partnership with Colorado Homeschool Enrichment).

• Fridays: Optional (but highly recommended) Immersion Workshops, guest lectures from Indigo Coaches, and off-site field rotations.

How many children are in each homeschool Medical class? To maintain professional clinical standards, we keep a strict 16:1 student-to-clinician ratio. This ensures safety during surgical simulations and personalized mentorship.

Are classes broken down by grade or are they mixed ages? Our classes are broken down by Phase, not traditional grade levels. While Phase I typically includes 6th and 7th graders, it is a competency-based model. Scholars remain in their Phase until they achieve certification, regardless of age.

SPECIAL NEEDS & INCLUSION

Do you accept children with special needs or IEPs? IRMA strives for an inclusive "Village." We cannot provide accommodations through 504 plans to ensure accessibility. Also, please note that as a private enrichment academy, we are not required to implement IEPs or provide specialized special education services. If your scholar has specific needs, please email our Director of Homeschool Enrichment to discuss if our fast-paced laboratory environment is the right fit.

ACADEMICS & LANGUAGES

Which languages do you offer? We offer Kreyol for Medical Professionals.

Will my scholar learn a language in only one day per week? Language at IRMA is "Applied." Because scholars use Kreyol daily in their medical charting and labs, they achieve a high level of technical fluency. For Kreyol, we focus on Clinical Conversationalism—the ability to conduct a patient intake and explain procedures.

Can I enroll my scholar in two different languages? Currently, we prioritize mastery of the Medical Latin/Greek roots first. Once a scholar moves into Phase III, they may elect to add Medical Spanish as a secondary discipline.

DAILY LIFE & REQUIREMENTS

What does a typical day look like?

• 09:00: Medical Morning Briefing & Rounds.

• 09:30: The Art of the Table (Executive Etiquette & Formal Breakfast).

• 10:30: Clinical Lab Rotation (e.g., Suture Clinic or Vital Signs).

• 12:30: Professional Networking Lunch.

• 01:30: Medical Humanities or Pathology Research.

• 03:00: Shift Handoff & Dismissal.

Does your program have required homework? We prefer the term "Clinical Prep." Scholars are expected to review their lab modules and maintain their Medical Journals at home to be prepared for the hands-on "Thursday Rounds."

Is there a required number of days to attend? Yes. To maintain "Clinical Status" and move toward the next Phase, scholars must maintain 90% attendance at their scheduled Lab Days.

COMMUNITY & ENROLLMENT

Can my homeschooled child participate in after-school activities and Cultural Days? Absolutely. Your scholar is a full member of the IRMA Village. They are encouraged to attend all Cultural Days, International Festivals, and White Coat Ceremonies.

My scholar is in the traditional program. Can I move them to the homeschool program? Yes. Transitions are handled through the Admissions Office. Since both programs follow the same Phase Pipeline, your scholar will retain their current Phase status during the move.

3. Upon acceptance, pay the $150 Registration Fee (Waived for CHE-enrolled families).
