Helpdesk Ticket

Indiana Online has a robust helpdesk ticket system with many common questions answered in the Knowledge Base. If you cannot find the solution in the Knowledge Base, please submit a ticket for assistance. More information can be found on the Support page.

Genius

  1. What is Genius?

    • We utilize Genius for student management. It is also the system we use to enroll, track, and withdrawal students from Indiana Online.

  2. How do I access Genius?

  3. How do I create an account in Genius?

    • Click on the Enroll button on the homepage of the Indiana Online website.

    • Click Account Creation Page to create an account.

      • Please be sure to use a personal email and not your school or parent/guardian email.

  4. How do I register for a course?

    • In order to register for a course, you must first have an account in Genius.

    • Once you have an account, you can click on Request Course and then Request New Course. Select your enrollment period.

    • Select the enrollment term, course name, start date, and then click Save.

  5. How do I withdrawal from a course?

    • Click Drop a Course from the menu to see courses you are enrolled in, as well as the status of the enrollment.

    • To withdraw from a course(s), select the Request a New Drop button. Choose the course you wish to drop and select a reason. Click Save

Canvas

  1. How does my parent/guardian see my progress at Indiana Online?

  3. How do I contact my teacher in Canvas?

    • You can use your Canvas Inbox to message your teacher directly in Canvas. View the Communication page and select Canvas Inbox for more information.

  4. Can I use the Canvas App for Indiana Online?

    • The Canvas App is limited in its functionality and should only be used to check grades, communicating with your teacher and submit assignments. To interact with the course content, you must access Canvas in a web browser.

  5. How do I log into Canvas?

    • Your username is the one you received when you registered for your course

    • The password is the one used to register for your course

Communicating with Teacher

  1. How do I contact my teacher?

    • Indiana Online teachers are readily available to support and serve our students using many means of communication. Check out the Communication page for tips on how to best communicate with your teacher.

    • In the Welcome (Start Here) Modules of each Canvas course, you will find a Teacher Contact Information page with details on how to contact your teacher.

    • Teachers will also post their contact information and office hours as announcements in the Canvas course.

  2. What do I do if my teacher doesn't answer my question?

    • Indiana Online teachers are great at responding to questions within 24 hours. In the very rare case that it has been over 24 hours, please notify us by submitting a helpdesk ticket so we can assist you.
