Indiana Online Onboarding

Welcome to Indiana Online

We are excited to help students meet their academic needs. The Indiana Online onboarding site will help students become a better online learner and Indiana Online student. The information provided will help students successfully navigate through their course and answer questions students or parents/guardians may have about IOASIS (our student information system) or Canvas (our learning management system). Expectations and hints for effective communication are also included.

Student responsibilities:

  • Stay on track (or ahead) of the pacing guide in your course(s)

  • Complete assignments on time and to the best of your ability

  • Complete your Final Exam(s)/Project (Exam(s)/Projects are not proctored)

  • Contact your teacher whenever you have a problem

Parent/guardian responsibilities:

IOASIS

IOASIS is our student information system and where students will start in order to access information and their course(s).

In IOASIS you can:

  • change your password

  • see your completion progress in multiple courses

  • see your current grade in multiple courses

  • proceed to your current course(s)

  • register or withdrawal from a course(s)

Genius

Genius is our student information system and where students will start in order to access information and their course(s).

In Genius you can:

  • change your password

  • see your completion progress in multiple courses

  • see your current grade in multiple courses

  • proceed to your current course(s)

Canvas

Canvas is where students will find the content for their course.

Learn how to:

  • navigate through the course

  • complete assignments (quizzes, assignments, discussions)

  • check grades

**Please note, the Canvas App is limited in its functionality and should only be used to check grades, communicating with your teacher and submit assignments. To interact with the course content, you must access Canvas in a web browser.

Be Successful

Taking a course online is much different than sitting in a classroom full of other students and a teacher in front of you. Learn how to be an effective online student by:

  • understanding and following the pacing guide

  • communicating frequently with your teacher

  • understanding Indiana Online's policies
