Prenatal care support: Maternal health services are available from the first trimester of pregnancy, offering comprehensive support and education on prenatal care, opportunities to connect with other birthing individuals, health screenings and connections to a prenatal care provider, and help preparing for labor and delivery.
Chester County Health Department offers a variety of nurse home visiting services to pregnant and parenting families with a focus on health assessment, health education, and promotion of infant development. These services are free of cost to clients. Women can enroll during pregnancy or after they have their baby.
Medicaid / Medical Assistance (MA) provides coverage for pregnant women (coverage for pregnant women can begin as soon as your doctor or nurse informs you that you are pregnant) and children of low-income families through age 18.
