Catalase is a common enzyme found in all aerobic organisms, It catalyses the reaction converting hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen. The analysis uses hydrogen peroxide to test the amount of catalase in the cell. The higher the catalase more the oxidative stress, experienced by the organism, the faster the reaction occurs.
