Eagle Academy Information
Starts Monday, August 24th
Dear Parents and Guardians,
At ILTexas, we are committed to helping every student succeed academically and grow in responsibility. To support our students in reaching their full potential.
What is Eagle Academy?
Eagle Academy is a structured support program designed to give students additional time and guidance to complete assignments and strengthen their learning. Eagle Academy is not a punishment. Instead, it is an opportunity for students to take accountability for their work, improve their understanding of concepts, and build the skills they need for success.
When will Eagle Academy take place?
Eagle Academy will be held each school day (Monday–Friday) for one hour. 3:45pm - 4:45 PM.
Pick up for Eagle Academy is on the RED/ORANGE side of driveline and driveline cards are required.
All students should be picked up no later than 5:00 PM.
Which students are assigned to Eagle Academy?
Students may be assigned to Eagle Academy for the following reasons:
Accountability: If a student has an overall class average below 70 and receives a zero on an assignment.
Mastery Learning: If a student has an overall class average below 70 and scores below 70 on an assignment. A teacher will assist with mastery of learning.
Administrative/Teacher Assignment: Administrators or teachers may assign a student to Eagle Academy at any time if they believe the additional support will benefit the student.
Attendance Expectations and Consequences
Because Eagle Academy is designed to help students succeed, attendance is mandatory once assigned. If a student does not attend, the following progressive steps will be taken:
First Missed Session: Parent contacted by phone/email. Student assigned After School Discipline (ASD). Student must make-up the missed Eagle Academy session.
Second Missed Session: Parent conference scheduled with the Assistant Principal. Student receives a warning letter regarding expulsion and is assigned one day of Out of School Suspension (OSS). Missed ASD and Eagle Academy must still be completed.
Third Missed Session: Student referred to MTSS/Triage for behavior documentation. Parent conference scheduled with the AP. Student assigned two days of OSS. Missed ASD and Eagle Academy must still be completed.
Fourth Missed Session: Parent meeting scheduled with the principal. Student assigned three days of OSS. Continued failure to attend may result in a recommendation for expulsion after multiple suspensions.
After School Discipline (ASD):
If ASD is not served, the student will automatically be assigned Out of School Suspension (OSS).
We truly believe Eagle Academy will provide our students with the extra support they need to be successful. With consistent effort and partnership between school and home, every student can achieve academic growth and reach their goals. Please refer to the ILTexas Student/Parent Handbook and Code of Conduct, page 68.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that your child attends Eagle Academy when assigned. Together, we can help our Eagles soar!
