Postdoctoral & Graduate Student Positions
We always welcome new postdoctoral and doctoral students to join our lab.
Prospective students interested in joining The Nutrition-Gene Laboratory are encouraged to send a letter of interest and CV or resume to Dr. Pan or Dr. Chen, and to apply for entry into graduate programs within the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition and/or the Division of Nutritional Sciences.

Undergraduate Research
Undergraduate researchers will have the opportunity to be involved in all phases of research:
- conducting experiments such as RNA extraction, qPCR, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence (IF) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining...
- analyzing data collected from experiments
- preparing chemicals/reagents
- helping with lab maintenance on weekly basis and monthly basis
- sample collection
- other bench top work and office work
We also encourage, and will help as much as we can, our undergraduate researchers to participate science seminars, apply for department and college award, attend scientific conferences, and present their projects in oral and poster format.
- Please notice that training session for undergraduate students is only provided in fall semester, therefore you need to submit your application in advance.
- Please let us know your schedule in your contact form, so an interview can be arranged.
- Please note that if you decide to take course credit on your research work, 1 credit hour = 3 hours lab work/week.
- If paid lab assistant position is preferred, we may ask for your CV/resume and cover letter, and certain lab technique may be required.
