Student advising: general application, program selection + general academic info
Course articulations (C/NC, gen edu requests, transcript + CRF process with OR)
Application review + notification: Reviews applications in conjunction with partner and unit. LASIP handles student notifications + confirmations, creates Confirmation of Participation (COP) + Fin Aid Budget (FAB).
Partner relations: primary contact with partners re admin + students. Organizes consortium and partner meetings, site visits.
Pre-departure orientation: organizes and leads, provides guidance on travel + visas
Promotion: maintains program and college web content, creates media, organizes info sessions, study abroad fairs.
Application cycle management: create + maintain TDS application
LAS 291/292: global learning + intercultural competency reflection course spans pre-departure - returnee - LASIP staff plus grad student TAs.
Agreements: correspondence with partner institution + Illinois admin (IIP, Legal, Risk Management, Purchasing/CSO, IT Security Risk)
Budget management: student billing, partner payments, budget tracking, account set-up
Coordination of academic oversight when multiple units/colleges across campus are involved.
Program evaluation and review
Incoming exchange coordination and advising (if applicable)
Student advising: academics and major/degree-specific course work through the program abroad. Ensure all unit advisors are knowledgeable of the program.
Course articulations: pre-articulate and regularly review courses for study abroad programs and articulate new courses as needed.
Application review: Review student applications and provide LASIP with timely unit feedback and recommendations.
Partner relations: faculty – faculty contacts, primary contact with partner re academics, course articulations, attends consortium and partner meetings, conduct regular site visits
Promotion: target cohorts via faculty, classes, and advisors, maintains unit web and social media content, presents at info sessions and pre-departure events when relevant.
