Welcome to the Phase Transformations & Alloy Development (PTAD) Research Group!

We investigate thermodynamics, kinetics, and crystallography of solid-state phase transformations in steels and advanced alloys — correlating the alloy-design and materials processing with micro-mechnaical responses & engineering-scale performance in rail, structural, aerospace, defence, hydrogen infrastructure, cryogenic, and lightweight applications.
