About the Illinois Tech REU Program
This Illinois Tech REU Summer Program is an NSF-funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) internship focused on students interested in X-rays and their applications in material science.
The program duration is about two months, approximately, May 27 to July 30, 2023.
Students will be attending this program in person (assuming no significant deterioration in COVID-19 situation), and work at Illinois Tech and related facilities for the full duration of the program.
Typically students are housed on campus.
Acceptance to this program is on a competitive basis, and all students particularly those from the underrepresented communities as well as women are encouraged to apply.
Accepted students will receive a stipend of $600/ per week plus a preset travel, accommodation, and meal plan support via funding from the National Science Foundation (Award # 2050916). Travel support (total round trip cost) is capped at $400 while accommodation and meal plan are capped at $3500.
