AGOMONI - is our tiny effort to share our culture with the IISER Berhampur community.

The advent of Sharad brings with it a wave of celebrations. Durga Pujo, at its core resonates with the Bengali ethos, for its inclusiveness of diversity. It is a celebration of life. It is our celebration of familiarity - away from home. Hence " AGOMONI- The Homecoming ". We, the Bengali community of IISER Berhampur, feel elated to invite everyone in this occasion.

The celebration of AGOMONI in IISER Berhampur began in 2016 and as few members leave and more members join .....not to worry Dada, " Aschhe Bochhor Abar Hobe " !!!

OUR OBJECTIVE

Festivals act as an initiative from the mundane tanks and fill us with bliss and happiness; invigorating raw spirit and liveliness.

Durga Puja or Sharodutsab celebrates womanhood as much as it glorifies the triumph of good over evil. Maa Durga, an epitome of empowerment, revokes a sense of confidence and power in the hearts of her devotee.

Due to the pandemic, many people around the world would be mining the celebration this year in full glory. So, lets relieve the pomp and splendor of the festival together with an ideal homecoming - AGOMONI.

This year marking the birth century of the maverick filmmaker of all times, Satyajit Ray, we are paying homage to this legend through variety of events whose names have been crafted from the stories and memories of Ray. Keeping in mind the hard times, the celebration will be held in the digital mode.
