KMIC team interacted with several councillors over the period of 2 years and documented their daily functioning. We found major gaps in terms of their knowledge of their roles and responsiblities after holding office.
Team KMIC decided to invest in systematic knowledge up gradation with proper training programs for municipal councillors for effective decentralized policy implementation. Continuous skills up gradation programs are required for municipal councillors to adequately respond to the needs and demands of their constituents.
