Ireland

In Ireland, post-primary school goes from 12 years old up to 18 years old students. It’s divided in two stages: Junior Cycle, from12 to 15 years old, and Senior Cycle, from 16 to 18 years old.

Irish schools can be classified into 5 catergories: 

• Fee paying or non-fee paying

•  Single sex or co-educational

• Religious or non-denominational

• The main language in the school is English or it is Irish

• They provide extracurricular activities such as sports, arts or music or not.

Teachers in Ireland that tutor in post-primary schools have a degree in at least one subject of the curriculum.
