BIOGRAPHY
Jaime Arsenio Gómez Pomar began playing the violin at an early age with his grandfather, the composer and violinist Bernat Pomar i Pomar. He later studied with Xavier Pericàs, who prepared him for admission to the conservatory, where he continued his professional training with Ramón Andreu at the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Mallorca.
In 2019, he entered the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears, where he studied under José Manuel Álvarez Losada, with Vicente Balaguer as his associate professor.
He has participated in festivals and masterclasses such as the Mimas Festival (Italy) and Forum Musikae, where he worked with Manuel Guillén. He has also received lessons from renowned violinists including Juan Luis Gallego, Sarah Kapustin, Yuri Zhislin, Lavard Skou, Hans-Werner Mehling, Petr Macecek, Gabriel Koh Kameda, Sihana Badivuku, and Darling Dyle. Since 2018, he has received regular guidance from the distinguished violinist Olivier Charlier, professor at the Conservatoire de Paris.
Jaime has performed with numerous orchestras, including the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, the Mallorca Chamber Orchestra, the Orquestra Lauseta, the Balearic Islands Youth Orchestra, and the Encontres Orquestrals de les Illes Balears. He has also served as concertmaster of the Conservatory’s Symphony Orchestra.
In 2022, he was awarded second prize in the Chamber Music Competition of the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears.
He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Violin Performance at Codarts – University of the Arts in Rotterdam – under the guidance of Gordan Nikolić and Goran Bregovic, and continues to receive artistic mentorship from Vicente Balaguer as a visiting professor.
