BIOGRAPHY
Carla Meléndez Ledezma is a violinist currently in her second year of the Master’s programme in Performance at Codarts – University of the Arts in Rotterdam, where she studies under Frederieke Saeijs.
She previously completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Orchestral Performance at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, studying with Alejandro Saiz.
Carla has been a member of several professional and youth orchestras, including the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (RTVE), the Orchestra and Choir of the Community of Madrid, the Dudamel Foundation Orchestra, the Krakow FMF Youth Orchestra, the Young Orchestra of the Canary Islands, and the Young Orchestra of the Basque Country.
Throughout her training, she has received lessons and guidance from renowned musicians and teachers such as Rainer Honeck, Bomsori Kim, Nemanja Radulovic, Nathan Cole, Michael Baremboim, Mark Gothoni, Joaquín León Ara, María Florea, Helena Satué, Tatiana Samouil, María Saiz, David Mata, Mariana Todorova, Miguel Borrego, and Messun Hong Coleman. These experiences have deeply enriched her artistic approach and development as a performer.
She has also participated in festivals such as the Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, the Canary Islands International Music Festival, the Salzburg Festival, and the Krakow Film Music Festival, broadening her experience across diverse musical contexts and repertoires.
