CNAT – (BUSINESS) – Enterprise & marketing

This is a different type of Business Studies qualification in terms of learning approach and assessment format. The aim of the OCR Enterprise & Marketing specification is to This qualification is for learners who wish to develop applied knowledge and practical skills in Enterprise and Marketing. It is designed with both practical and theoretical elements, which will prepare students for further study of qualifications in enterprise, marketing or business. enable students to develop knowledge and understanding of how businesses start, operate and develop. Students who like practical work, undertake time-based challenges, problem solve and show creativity will be well suited.

The course contains one examination, consisting of the following aspects: 1 hour and 15 minutes - 70 marks (40% of final grade) ● Questions will relate to the content that appears in R067 – Enterprise & Marketing concepts ● The paper is divided into two sections - Section A: 10 multiple choice questions; Section B: comprises of short answer questions and three extended response questions. The extended response evaluation question will relate to PO4.

R068Design a Business Proposal (30% of the qualification)

This is assessed through an internal written assignment.

The assessed tasks will be practical tasks in the context of an OCR-set assignment. This unit will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to design a product proposal to meet a business challenge scenario. Learners will be able to identify a customer profile for their own product design, develop market research tools and use these to complete market research for their product. Learners will use their research outcomes to generate product design ideas, assess their strengths and weaknesses and work collaboratively with peers to gain feedback to inform final design decisions. Learners will complete financial calculations to select a pricing strategy and determine whether their proposal is viable.

R069 – Market and Pitch a Business Proposal

(30% of the qualification)

This is assessed through an internal written assignment.

This unit will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to create a brand identity and promotional plan for their product proposal, developed in Unit R065. They will be able to pitch their product proposal to an external audience after completing a practice pitch, and complete a review of both their pitching skills and product proposal, using their learning from this qualification, self-assessment and feedback generated.

Where can OCR Enterprise and Marketing lead?

Students taking this course can progress to ‘A’ level Business Studies here at Idsall or any other post 16 Business qualification. Many also use the qualification to gain an insight into starting their own business or Apprenticeship in various industries. Alternatively, students use OCR Enterprise & Marketing as a springboard into other related courses such as: Finance, Product Design, Art, Creative Media and ICT.
