Bats!
In the summer, Church Stretton Cubs did a geat job of constructing a dozen bat boxes, which were then installed in trees on our eastern boundary.
In September we led two bat events, one for the Cubs and one for supporters, to help people learn about the bats at High Leasowes. There will be more on this in our next newsletter.
Floral diversity - September 2025
In September volunteers scattered yellow rattle seed to help decrease the vigour of the coarser grasses. We also strimmed a number of circles to reduce the thatch and seeded a range of native, local seed into these areas. Finally, volunteers planted a number of plug plants such as viper's bugloss and ragged robin ino the damper areas. We hope this work will lead to a further increase in the range of plants that grow at High Leasowes.
