Hola! My name is Dyymond Whipper-Young, this my second year as the art teacher at ICS west. It was a pleasure teaching your students online and I can’t wait to meet them in person. I fell in love with art at the age of 11, in Baltimore where I raised, and I have been practicing ever since. I attended Temple University (Go TU!) where I primarily practiced fine arts through oil painting and sculpture. I’ve worked with brands like Puma, NAACP, Philadelphia Mural Art Program, and most recently Crayola and Franklin institute where I broke the Guinness world record for the largest drawing my one individual. Last school year I had the lucky opportunity to take 25 students to The IDEA works exhibition to help me color in my huge master piece. This year we will focus on art as self expression, art of different cultures and exciting career paths in the arts. We like to keep fun as top priority in my class so I’m looking forward to creating with your young artists! Please reach out at dyymonw@ics.org if you have any questions.
