INTEGRATION OF UNIQUE STEM ACTIVITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN CURRICULUM TEACHER WORKSHOP

The event will take place with the participation of 3 teachers from each institution, hosted by Innovative And Sustainable Development Instıtute (ISDI) in Luxembourg. The activity aims to integrate the original STEM activities produced for SDG in previous mobilizations into the lesson outcomes of partner schools and school curricula. For this, a 5-day teacher workshop was planned, and hosted by ISDI, an expert and experienced organization in the field. The daily planning of the workshop is as follows:

1 DAY:

Introductory presentation on the host organization's visit and work, introduction to the Luxembourg education system

Presentation of the SDG Circular and its legal dimension by the host organization experts, sharing the results of research on social barriers related to the development of STEM skills and orientation of women to STEM fields and discussing the suggestions for removing social barriers. Touring sustainable buildings in the city.

2 DAYS:

Planning activities to integrate the achievements towards SDG goals into the latent programs of schools;

Integrating concrete activities into the lesson outcomes aimed at understanding the concept of "sustainability" at an early age. 

Discussing the concepts of "sustainable environment, economy, and growth", preparing action plans for sustainable development of institutions.

3 DAYS

Examination of PISA questions on STEM skills, examination of OECD data Examination of the way STEM activities are included in the education systems of developed countries and curriculum applications according to OECD data. Listing nature-based STEM activities

4 DAYS

Listing the STEM activities designed and realized for SDG Goal 6, goal 7, goal 11, goal 14, goal 15,

Diversifying the activities, making 5E lesson plans, finding relevant acquisitions in the curriculum and adapting them to the outcomes
