Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme for education, training, youth and sport. It gives students, teachers and other education professionals the opportunity to study, learn, work and gain experience in other European countries.
The programme promotes European cooperation, cultural exchange and inclusion, helping participants develop new skills and become more open-minded and confident.
For schools, Erasmus+ can include student exchanges, teacher mobility, job shadowing, training courses and cooperation projects with schools in other countries.
Erasmus+ is not only about travelling. It is about learning from others, sharing experiences, discovering different cultures and building a stronger sense of European citizenship.
IC Senigallia Sud Belardi is the lead partner of a consortium valid for three years (2025/26, 2026/27, and 2027/28); the consortium includes five other comprehensive schools, specifically:
IC Ostra (AN)
IC Faà di Bruno Marotta (PU)
IC Sant’Orso Fano (PU)
IC A. Gandiglio San Lazzaro (PU)
IC Giovanni Paolo II Vallefoglia (PU)
During the 2025/26 school year, IC Senigallia Sud carried out several mobility activities:
the first took place in February in Barcelona, Spain, involving 50 middle school students from the various schools, accompanied by two teachers per class group;
in May, four teachers—from middle, primary, and preschool levels—were hosted by two Italian-German schools in Düsseldorf. They observed the teaching practices at the Thomas Schule and Wim Wenders Gymnasium, both recently recognized by the Italian Consul in Germany for the excellence of their educational programs;
six primary and middle school teachers attended the "Human as a part of nature" course in Karkkila, Finland. This course, conducted entirely in English for teachers from various European countries, aimed to raise awareness regarding issues such as environmental sustainability and the integration of nature into daily teaching practices.
Thanks to Erasmus+ European funding, IC Senigallia Sud successfully organized highly valuable training activities for both students and teachers. Following a call for applications last February, IC Senigallia Sud has secured additional funding for further mobility activities across Europe, which will be planned and organized shortly.
The Erasmus Days are an official international celebration of the Erasmus+ programme. They are not a separate Erasmus project or funding action; rather, they are a special period in which schools, universities, organisations and Erasmus+ participants showcase, celebrate and disseminate their Erasmus+ experiences and projects.
In 2025, the Erasmus Days took place from 13 to 18 October 2025 and it was the 9th edition. The official motto was:
“Live our values, inspire our future.”
The focus was particularly on the European values shared by the EU: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and human rights.
IC Senigallia Sud took part in the Erasmus days and the students produced several projects.
