T.A.Bs and Phone Calls Home
T.A.Bs are Take A Breaks, which are issued when a student needs to have a minute or two to get their behavior, attitude, or mindset back on track. Students can request to take a break, or at times they will be instructed to take one. In this case, it is not optional because their behavior has been out of line with class rules, core values/virtues, or has been disruptive to the class. While TABbing out of the classroom, the students will have time to reflect, pray, and do some exercises to get back on track. It is not meant to be a punishment, just a behavioral management tool.
Phone calls home (or messages via Remind if that is a better way to reach you) will occur if there are behaviors or circumstances happeneing in class that I believe you need to be aware of. This can be anything from medical needs to persistent disruptions to learning. As the parent, you are a very important part of your child's education and I want you to be conscious of anything that may impact that for your student.
Negative behaviors will be discussed with parents as quickly as possible. Plans and actions taken to improve the behavior will be communicated as well. Each case will be treated individually.
Your child is loved and valued here and I want the environment they learn in to reflect that. This is why we hold all children to a high standard and expect that the core values of the school are understood. These policies help to ensure the peace of the class and each student.
If you have questions about these classroom policies, please let me know!
