2nd Grade

"Praise the Lord in the Heavens and the Heights!"

Psalm 148

Living for Heaven!

It is officially fall in the second grade!

Gone is our summer and we are now fully integrated back into school! We are continually working through our routines and expectations, in addition to building on current skills towards independent routines for success. Our 2nd graders are highly encouraged to seek help from friends and peers before asking a teacher. With each reminder, we are working towards resourcefulness and social-emotional learning, to prepare themselves in any instance when the teacher is potentially not readily available.

Our Fridays have a Friday project time built into the schedule at the end of the day. These projects are intended to help our students understand how to work with our peers throughout a series of different challenges. Our photo reel below will show case the different types of challenges our 2nd graders have worked through as a team.

Our Halloween bash was some afternoon! From students in uniform to a full classroom in fun and bright costumes all ready for the parade! We played a few Halloween games, passed out treats, and even had a Halloween dance party! Halloween seems to be a favorite holiday with our students so far. Nothing candy and treats won't boost!

As our trimester continues on, and the weather gets colder, wetter, and snowier, our morning and afternoon routine will have an added task of where to drop off and pick up our winter gear. All parents please note, that if your student is not appropriately dressed and ready for the snow, those students will most likely spend recess in the classroom.

Please enjoy our photo reel and videos from the past several weeks since the beginning of the school year!
