Cultivating Change in Society

ICA Real Talk is a strand-based organization composed of Senior High School HUMSS students who aim to spread awareness on the Humanities and Social Sciences by sparking discussions among the students using theories, art, and real life applications.

The 2024-2025 website features a multitude of works ranging from articles and poetry to visual pieces. For this year's release, Real Talk presents to you a website completed with written works and artworks that are catered to fit the themes of each TEd JEEPGY Pillar. Through this, the organization aims to provide website visitors with a holistic viewpoint of timely and relevant social issues translated through a variety of works.

Vision

An ICA community that is open, accepting, loving, and compassionate towards each and every one of our brothers and sisters, harbors no hate and judgment in their hearts, takes a stand against stereotypes, stigmas, and prejudice, and actively participates in creating a better and more loving world.

Mission

To create an environment that encourages individuals to be involved and to participate in many socio-political issues in our country and around the world. We wish to create level-headed ICAns who are ready to tackle life challenges through activities crafted for better understanding of our community and society.

Values

Real Talk aspires to spread awareness on relevant issues in today's society, prompt a discussion on these topics and current events, and to ignite the ICAn's passion for social change.

The worst thoughts of the mind are those that fabricate themselves into your head once you lay in bed. In those moments it can feel as if you’re left floating in an endless sea, pondering on the unanswered or what could have been. A question that finds itself washed to shore is “What makes you special?” A tidewrack that has remained buried in the continuously dissolving sand. How can you find yourself back at shore when the tidal waves push you farther than you once were?

Where Greed Tramples All

Short Story by Danielle Saquing

A made up mythology of earth’s destruction. Following the point of view of a nymph who guards a sacred pearl, meanwhile humanity’s constant greed for the earth’s resources are portrayed through different monsters. When the pearl is suddenly taken, the monsters begin to grow stronger, ravaging and running free throughout the world— causing death and destruction as a consequence.
