SCALE FIGURES

The 2D scale figures are a series of collaged people digitally manipulated to represent a new way of visualizing homo sapiens in the context of the landscape. Popular architectural figures are collaged using photoshop to exaggerate/accentuate features in order to create abstract, yet still identifying forms.

These 2D scale figures are a series of faceless, androgynous, hand drawn humans doing a variety of activities including standing, sitting and exercising.

These 3D models merge figures and show different characteristics depending on the angle at which they are being viewed. Rather than showing just one person, it demonstrates many performing the same activities.

Designers use entourages to demonstrate specific functions, emotions, and qualities they want to associate with their work. Whether it is showing who belongs in a space or how an environment is used, these representations are the avatars of their creators and suggestions of their future occupants. The figures here are from public 3D databases and manipulated, split, recombined, distorted, and tessellated, reducing their forms to their basic functions.
