Kindergartners are greeted at the buses during the first week of school. Help us to provide safe, efficient transportation by reviewing the following bus safety regulations with your child prior to the start of school:
1. The bus driver is in complete charge of the bus.
2. The occupants of school buses are under the same behavior regulations as when they are in school.
3. Young students are required to sit in the front half of the bus.
4. Students are to take a seat as soon as they board the bus and are to remain seated at all times.
5. Students’ voices are not to exceed conversational levels.
6. Litter is not to be thrown on the bus or out the windows.
7. Students are not to handle the windows. Hands and heads are to remain inside the bus at all times.
8. Use of vulgar or obscene language is not permitted.
9. Eating and drinking are not permitted on the bus.
10. Marking or defacing the bus is not permitted.
11. Students should be courteous to others and respect their belongings.
12. For safety reasons, there should be no scarves or dangling objects on clothes or backpacks.
13. Toys are not allowed out on the bus.
Families are requested to review the bus rules with their student and emphasize their importance.
Please send a note to your student’s teacher if you or someone else is picking up your student ON THE DAY THE CHANGE WILL OCCUR. Use the forms from the gold “A note from Home” pad that you receive from the school and please do not put it in an envelope. This will help in promptly identifying the note. Reinforce with your student that each time he/she brings in a note to leave the note in their folder for the teacher to remove at the start of the school day.
