There are many county and state-wide mental health resources available to children, parents/caregivers and families. See below for a list of urgent support services, non-urgent/long and short term services, and local Monmouth County counseling services.
Urgent Support Services
Anonymous Helpline: 2nd Floor is a confidential and anonymous helpline for New Jersey's youth and young adults. We are here to help you find solutions to the problems that you face at home, at school or at play.
Mobile Response Stablization Services (MRSS): PerformCare is a service for families who have urgent needs and are not able to wait for appointments. A 30 minute phone call first takes place and the child is seen within one hour of the call. PerformCare will go to any location that is convenient for the family/child to assess for risk, make a support plan and provide 8 weeks of support. There is no cost.
Crisis Text Line: Visit the Crisis Text Line Web site or Text HELLO to 741741 to connect with a Crisis Counselor. Counselors are available 24/7 for support.
Suicide Prevention & Crisis Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals.
RWJ-MMC-Child and Adolescent Crisis Diversion Program (CACDP): This outpatient service serves as a Mental Health Urgent Care, but is not 24/7. The program provides rapid access to services by completing a psychological evaluation within 48 hours of calling. This service is meant to be preventive for those who are struggling but who are not in an emergency.
Hackensack Meridian Health and Psychiatry- JSUMC Urgent Care Behavioral Health: Children receive an evaluation and service at the time of arrival, as a one time only visit. It may be utilized when a child's doctor or therapist is not available and the family is looking for something more convenient than an emergency room.

Non-urgent/long or short term support services
Monmouth Cares- Care Management Organization (CMO): This resource may be utilized by families who are looking for long term support. The child will be met with within one week to do an evaluation to determine appropriate support services.
Family Support Organization (FSO): This is a unique resource that is focused on providing support to parents who have kids who are experiencing struggles or difficulties. FSO provides support groups for parents and will support the mental health of parents, while also connecting families to other services as needed.
Monmouth County Department of Health and Human Services- Navigation Warm Line: This is a one-stop phone line (732-683-8959) that anyone can call to get assistance in obtaining mental health resources. This department makes referrals to the appropriate agency based on the needs identified and the agency calls the family within 48 hours.
The Hopes program is available to provide support to families after they have lost a child by suicide. Parents who have experienced this type of loss also visit families in their homes to provide support.
