When students feel connected to their school environment, they are more likely to succeed academically and socially. We provide various services to support students including lunch bunch, individual and group counseling, and social & emotional learning.
The Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework focuses on five core competencies including Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Responsible Decision Making and Relationship Skills. Our School Counseling programming is based on this CASEL framework.
Group counseling/support: Typically focuses on a specific topic or goal to work on in a supportive small group environment. Groups usually run for 6-8 weeks based on the needs of the students. Groups are formed based on needs observed by counselors, teachers and/or parent input.
Individual counseling/support: Typically focuses on setting and supporting social, emotional and academic goals as well as navigating friendship and emotional regulations. Students may make an appointment to see a counselor or the counselors may periodically check in with individuals. Teachers and parents may also refer students to meet with counselors.
Lunch Bunch: Small groups of students have lunch together and socialize in an informal, relaxed and fun setting.
