Mae Cymru'n gyrchfan twristiaeth amrywiol ac felly mae ganddi lawer i'w gynnig. O fynyddoedd ac arfordiroedd i benwythnosau mewn llety gwely a brecwast bach i ddigwyddiadau chwaraeon a cherddoriaeth enfawr, mae amrywiaeth eang o brofiadau ar gael i ymwelwyr. Mae pwysigrwydd y diwydiant i Gymru yn ddiamheuol: y miliynau o bunnoedd mae ymwelwyr yn eu gwario, y miloedd o swyddi mae'n eu cynnal, a'r busnesau sy'n cael eu creu i'w gynnal. Mae gan Gymru uchelgeisiau i dyfu eto. Mae tystiolaeth o hyn yn yr ymchwiliad a gynhaliwyd yn 2022 i archwilio'r camau gall Llywodraeth y DU eu cymryd i helpu i hyrwyddo Cymru i'r byd. Mae Llywodraeth Cymru hefyd wedi amlinellu eu blaenoriaethau i'r diwydiant, gan nodi 'ein huchelgais yw tyfu twristiaeth er budd Cymru. Mae hyn yn golygu cyflawni twf economaidd sy’n sicrhau budd i bobl a lleoedd gan gynnwys cynaliadwyedd amgylcheddol, cyfoethogi cymdeithasol a diwylliannol a buddiannau iechyd.' Mae'r datblygiadau cyffrous hyn yn cynnig cyfle i ddysgwyr weld twristiaeth yng Nghymru yn symud i'w gam nesaf.
OVERVIEW
Wales is a diverse tourism destination and consequently has a lot to offer. From mountains and coasts, to small bed and breakfast weekends, to huge sporting and musical events, there is a huge variety of experiences for visitors to be part of. The importance of the industry to Wales is undeniable: the millions of pounds that visitors spend, the thousands of jobs sustained, and the businesses created to support it. Wales has ambitions to grow further. This is evidenced in the 2022 inquiry held to explore the steps that the UK Government can take to help promote Wales to the world. The Welsh Government has also set out its priorities for the industry, stating that ‘our ambition is to grow tourism for the good of Wales. This means economic growth that delivers benefits for people and places, including environmental sustainability, social and cultural enrichment and health benefits.’ These exciting developments offer learners a chance to see tourism in Wales moving into its next phase.
