Pupils read "Ein Cymru Ni" factual books which focuses on the concept of "Welshness"
Pupils to create a display in the communal area within the school that promotes the advantages of learning Welsh
Pupils create posters to encourage other people to speak Welsh e.g. "Siardwch Gymraeg gyda ffrindiau." "Mae Cymraeg yn cwl"
Pupils are taught the benefits of learning Welsh
All pupils have watched the powerpoint which tells us the benefits of learning Welsh. They had a long discussion in their pairs in response to the questions set. This was very informative.
Pupils have learnt the Welsh National Anthem "Hen Wlad fy Nhadau"
Cwricwlwm Cymreig is planned for
When completing medium term plans teachers use CSC document 'Welsh Books that reflect Welsh culture and identity' to incorporate Cwricwlwm Cymreig into our topics.
Each class has a take home Welsh initiative mascot. A short session is dedicated to questioning the mascot on his return following the exemplar scripts
Parents are invited to be part of Welsh enrichment activities
We shared Welsh language patterns with parents and shared the advantages of learning Welsh.
We encouraged parents to speak Welsh when making their hot drinks.

We love Welsh at Cwm Clydach so we decided to invite our parents into school so they could see all the excellent activities we do in school. We really enjoyed teaching them Welsh. We explained our Welsh Bingo games, Welsh games and we read our Welsh reading books.
Staff attend all designated Welsh courses run by the Local Authority
The school establishes a link with a local school so that the pupils can converse in Welsh via email or video link on a familiar topic e.g. news
Year 6 are preparing a pen portrait of themselves that can be shared with our cluster schools.
