Welcome

During the coming months you will make important decisions regarding the subjects you want to study in Year 10 and 11. During this period you will do exercises in tutorial lessons to enable you to get to know yourself better and to find out where to get help and relevant information about careers and options.

This decision is an important one for your child's future and therefore I would like to ensure you that the school is here to assist and to help throughout the process.

We hope this website will assist you in making decisions. There will also be a consultation evening when you will have a further opportunity to discuss your future with members of staff.

There is more information and advice on the Careers Wales website www.careerswales.com

Transition to GCSE courses

Below is a summary of the process including important dates to note. The intention of this timetable is to ensure that all pupils have the best possible opportunity to study the subjects they wish and so that we can place the suitable staffing for each subject.

A message from the Headteacher - Mr Geoff Evans

The fact that you are reading this website shows that you are now faced with choices that will determine which subjects you will study over the next two years.

You need to read the information carefully in order to choose the best possible combination of the options available. Remember that we expect all pupils to do their best and to reach their full potential, so choose wisely, not the easiest option!

You will study your option subjects over the next two years in Year 10 and 11, so choose courses and subjects that you will like, that you will succeed in and that are at a suitable level.

The only advice we would give is that your choices allow you to study a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum, so read the information carefully.

It is important that you do not worry about the choices. Confirming the final choices will happen when we are confident that pupils have received enough information and experiences.

Diolch,

Mr Geoff Evans
