Trafferthion rhif / Dyscalculia
Anhawster penodol gyda mathemateg, yma gwelir fod sgiliau rhifedd yn amlwg iawn wedi'u heffeithio. Gallai disgyblion gael anhawster o ran deall rhifau a chysyniadau syml, diffyg dealltwriaeth reddfol o rifau a phroblemau o ran dysgu ffeithiau a gweithdrefnau rhifol.

Torri tasgau i gamau bach
Rhowch bob syniad newydd mewn cyd-destun bob dydd – mae disgyblion sy’n cael trafferth yn aml yn deall rhif mewn cyd-destun yn llawer gwell e.e. rhannu – rhannu gyda ffrindiau.
Anaml iawn bydd dysgu patrwm e.e.ail-adrodd tablau yn helpu. Bydd angen iddynt ysgrifennu’r tabl bob tro gan adio e.e. tabl 2 adio 2 gyda bysedd/marciau/cownteri.
Rhaid ail-adrodd gwaith yn ddyddiol gan bod cof yn broblem fawr.
Defnyddiwch ddulliau amlsynnwyr wrth addysgu e.e. dysgu amser gyda rap yn dweud yr amser/symud breichiau yr un pryd.

Specific learning difficulty with numeracy. Pupils will have difficulty understanding numbers and simple concepts, and difficulty learning facts and numeracy procedures.
Use equipment/objects for EVERYTHING when introducing new ideas - fingers, Numicon, counters.
Break tasks into small steps
Introduce new concepts in every-day contexts - children who have difficulty often understand when in context e.g. division - sharing with friends.
Only rarely does learning a pattern help e.g. repeating times tables. They will need to write the table each time e.g. 2 times table - adding 2 each time using objects.
Daily repetition of work is needed as retention is an associated difficulty.
Use multisensory approaches e.g. learn time with a rap saying the time while moving arms.
Use strategies for how the child learns best and build on this.
Regular praise and celebrate any success.
