Dear K-3 Families,
Hopewell Valley Regional School District follows the New Jersey Multi-Tiered System of Supports (NJMTSS) framework, which includes universal screening assessments for students in grades K–3. Universal screeners are brief assessments administered to all students three times each year (fall, winter, and spring). The results help identify student strengths and areas for growth in key early literacy skills that support successful reading development.
Following the fall screening, families received a letter with their child’s score report. Moving forward, families will be able to access their child’s universal screener results through LinkIt! Parent Portal. This update will make it easier for families to view results and access their child’s assessment information. Instructions for creating your account and an access code will be sent in a separate email from LinkIt! on Friday, March 20th. Click here for a sample LinkIt! email
For more information about the universal screeners used in our district, including what they measure and how results are used to support instruction, please visit: HVRSD Universal Screening K-3
Students receiving instruction in a special education setting have already been identified as having literacy needs. As a result, some students with IEPs may complete additional individualized diagnostic assessments aligned to their specific goals and objectives rather than the universal screening assessments. This information is documented in the student’s IEP. Families of students receiving special education services who have questions are encouraged to contact Dr. Beth Hoffman, Elementary Special Education Supervisor, or their child’s case manager.
If you have questions about accessing the portal, please contact HelpDesk@hvrsd.org.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child’s learning.
