The State of New Jersey enacted legislation requiring all school districts to screen students at least twice per year in kindergarten through grade three. In alignment with this mandate, HVRSD administers literacy screening tools three times per year in the fall, winter, and spring. If a child’s screening results indicate a need for additional support, the school will provide appropriate interventions, which may include additional instruction or further assessments.
