Physics Unit

I learned a lot during our physics unit this year. Here are some of the main topics that we covered.

The first thin that we discussed was how static electricity travels. For this we used balloons and even a Van De Graff generator. The next thing we did was build electromagnets and used them to attract paper clips and iron fillings. This led us into our lesson about magnets and magnetic fields. We learned about the magnetic field that surrounds us all, the earth. We then began to discuss the importance of newtons laws and how they relate to everyday activity, as simple taking a step. As an extension to the laws we began to discuss friction and and the importance of friction in the everyday world. We also talked about unseen forced that have effects in us every day, like gravity. To wrap up the unit we made a class digital book about physics. My part of the book was a VR 3D sketch about reference points. This unit was very fun and informative.
