Establishing Excellence Steps
The three Establishing Excellence Steps at LAR underpin our consistent approach to teaching across the Academy. It is our ambition that all teachers become masters of their craft in each of these areas.
Teachers will be systematically provided feedback on the first step until they have mastered it, with feedback progressing onto the next step until excellence in practice has been established.
The pedagogical and philosophical aspects of our teaching steps are derived from evidence based research of Daniel Willingham, Dylan Williams, Barak Rosenshine, John Sweller, Hermann Ebbinghaus and Oliver Caviglioli.
