Term 3
Message from Mr Etheridge
As we reach the midpoint of our school year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible strides our students have made; whether they are five or eleven, the transformation we see daily is nothing short of inspiring and it is a true privilege to be part of this part of their journey.
This module we have had members of the International Baccalaureate community visit Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo to provide reflective feedback on the standards and practices that the academy is beholden to. Whilst the written report is not quite ready to share yet, I am able to share that we are very pleased with what has been recognised as key strengths of the school and look forward to developing these even further. The way in which we deliver the National Curriculum is purposeful, engaging and meaningful - all three of these attributes truly help children to make long-lasting links in their learning which they will be able to draw on in future. Take a look at the Curriculum Pages to see exactly what each year group has been learning about this module and over the year.
However, it is not just academically that we support children to grow. Every day we support children to become better versions of themselves in order to build a better society for the future. Our 10 Learner Profile Attributes truly do underpin all we do at Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo and help our pupils to be more than just educated. If you take a look on Class Dojo, you will be able to see what your children has been rewarded for in relation to these attributes and this could help spark discussion with your child at home.
With half of the academic year left, I am very excited to take pause about what the next three modules will bring because I am confident that the amazing children who make up our school, supported by the passionate and supportive adults that surround them both at home and in the academy, will continue to shine and become the very best versions of themselves.

Staffing Changes
With the departure of Miss Channon as a TA in year 1, we are in the fortunate position to have been able to recruit an excellent replacement for the position, Mrs Barwell. As somebody who is familiar with the school as both a parent and long-standing volunteer, Mrs Barwell is well-placed to quickly provide the high-quality support which our children so rightly deserve.
As you may know, Miss Channon has worked as a TA at the academy for the past three years. Her hard work has had an impact on many of the children and I know that they will miss her very much as will the staff team; we wish her the very best in her future endeavours.
As part of the school's ongoing commitment to ensure that all staff are placed to provide the most effective support for all children, there are some mid-year staffing changes in relation to support staff which we believe will ensure that both staff and pupils are able to capitalise from the expertise that are held.
As such the following year groups will have the following support staff.
