Horatio Alger Scholarship 

Requirements: 

• Be enrolled full-time as a high school junior

• Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (Students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution). 

• Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)

• Be involved in co-curricular and community services activities

• Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity

• Hold a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0

• Be a US citizen

American Chemical Society Scholars Program

Requirements:

• U.S. citizens or a legal permanent U.S. residents (please inquire via email if you have questions regarding asylum or DACA status)

• African descent or Black, Hispanic or Latina/Latino/Latinx, or Indigenous (e.g. Native American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native) (please see below for more details)

• Graduating high school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores or juniors. Seniors can apply for their fifth year.

• Those intending to major or are already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or another chemistry-related science AND planning to pursue a career in a chemistry-related science as well (please see below for more details)

• Full-time students at a high school or an accredited college, university, or community college

• Those demonstrating high academic achievement in chemistry or science (Grade Point Average 3.0 or higher)

American Agri-Women Daughters of American Agriculture Scholarships

Requirements: Must be a farmer, rancher or be the wife, daughter or a close relative of a farmer, rancher or other person employed in agriculture.  There must be an economic or financial need.  Knowledge of or work experience in agriculture.  Grade Point Average or placement tests are considered. Scholarship funds maybe used for tuition for recognized courses in agriculture leadership, technology, communications, education, rural sociology, medicine or other courses directly related to agriculture and the needs in agricultural communities

SEG Scholarship

Requirements: SEG Scholarships are based on merit. To qualify, you must be a student who:

    A) Is a high school senior planning to attend college next year or an undergraduate or graduate college student;

    B) Has above average grades;

    C) Is intending to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in applied geophysics.

Sons of Italy Western Foundation Scholarship

Requirements: 

The requirements for applying for a Scholarship or Student Grant with the Order Sons of Italy, Grand Lodge of California is as follows:

James R Hoffa Memorial Scholarship

Requirements: For the sons, daughters and financial dependents of Teamster members (including the BMWED, BLET, GCC and TCRC). Academic scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 for high school seniors planning to attend a four-year college or university and Training/Vocational program awards of up to $2,000 for use at community colleges and trade schools.

*The children or financial dependents of full-time local union officers or full-time staff of local unions are ineligible.

Goya Foods Culinary Arts Scholarship

Requirements:

• Must be entering an accredited two-year or four-year institution as freshmen and majoring in a full-time Culinary Arts or Food Sciences* program for the 2025-26 academic year. Students enrolling in a two-year junior or community college must plan to transfer to a four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree and to receive the total maximum scholarship award of $20,000.

• Be a United States citizen, a legal permanent resident, or a student granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

• U.S. citizens must provide a copy of their birth certificate, U.S. passport, certificate of citizenship or naturalization certificate.

• Permanent residents must provide a copy of their current permanent resident card or a current passport stamped I-551.

• Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) must provide a copy of their DACA approval letter.

• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent.

• Candidates must be obtaining their first undergraduate degree.

Ken Brown/Francine Gaspar ACSA Scholarships

Requirements: 

In loving memory of former Region 7 leaders Ken Brown and Francine Gasper, three (3) one thousand dollar ($1,000) scholarships are available to children of Region 7 ACSA members.  

For your child to be eligible, you must be a current state ACSA member or submit a membership form and dues with the scholarship application. The ACSA membership may be current or post (retired/deceased). The child must be applying the scholarship to post high school educational endeavors.

Design a Better Future Scholarship

Requirements: 

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning on attending an accredited college or university in the United States of America. Additionally, students must have met all of the requirements described on this website (http://honorsgradu.com/). Employees of Honors Graduation and their families are not eligible to participate. Submissions must be received before the deadlines in order to qualify for the scholarship program. Mailed applications must be postmarked by that deadline. There are no citizenship requirements.

Rotary Club of Turlock "William DeOliveira Memorial" Scholarship

Requirements: The Rotary Club of Turlock sponsors the William DeOliveira Memorial Scholarship. The selected

recipient will receive a scholarship of $5,000. In addition, the Rotary Club of Turlock will provide

mentors to the recipient during his or her college years. The Rotary Club of Turlock wishes to

reward a character-based student who demonstrates the following characteristics:

•  Perseverance

•  Fellowship

•  Creativity

The scholarship may be different in that it may not include academic achievement, class rank or

test scores. Students who are not otherwise highly visible are encouraged to apply.

Students who will be entering career and technical education programs (CTE) at community colleges, technical training institutions, or vocational training programs may apply for financial scholarship awards. Hagan Scholarship Foundation

Requirements: 

1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

2. Must attend a traditional public high school located in the U.S. that is governed by a school district.

3. Must have achieved a 3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average.

4. Must enroll at an Eligible Four-Year College or University the first semester following high school graduation.

5. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule in college.

6. Must work 240 hours each year, from January 1 until commencement of the fall semester in college. Work can be performed at recipient discretion. Must be regularly scheduled work performed under supervision for compensation.

7. Applicant’s Gross Household Income reported for 2024 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $85,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total gross income received by all members of a household living under the same roof.

8. Must complete the FAFSA and provide the EFC.

9. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.

10. Must not have a felony conviction.

Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship

Requirements: 

• Apply online. Applicants will be asked to upload a copy of their high school transcript and standardized test scores, and to provide the names & email addresses for two individuals to provide recommendations on the applicant’s behalf.

• Plan to enroll full-time in one of the following majors (geology, geophysics, physics, chemical, civil, electrical, geological, geophysical, mechanical or petroleum engineering) at a specified institution (see list).

• Be lawfully authorized to work on a full-time basis in the United States without any form of sponsorship.

Requirements: 

The Navy League Foundation offers scholarships to high school seniors who will attend an accredited institution of higher education in the fall of the current award cycle. Applicants must be the dependent or direct descendant of a current or former member of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or U.S.-Flag Merchant Marines or an active member of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

Be a current high school senior living with a disability as defined by WHO, including visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive, and/or speech disabilities or other disability

Children of a SCOE Employee Scholarship

Requirements: The Children of SCOE Employees Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is a child of a permanent employee of the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE).

The recipient will be expected to attend a community college, university, or vocational-technical institute. Candidates must have a 2.5 grade point average during the sophomore and junior years, demonstrate leadership, evidence of participation in school activities, good citizenship, and show a potential for post-secondary study.

John B. Allard Scholarship

Requirements: The John B. Allard Scholarship will be awarded to a senior student who plans a career in education. ONLY APPLICANTS PURSUING A CAREER IN EDUCATION (i.e., teaching, administration, instructional aide, etc.) WILL BE CONSIDERED. The recipient will be expected to attend either a two- or a four-year college or university. John & Julie Thurman Agricultural Scholarship

Requirements: John and Julie Thurman Agricultural Scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding senior in Stanislaus County and one in Merced County who plans to continue his or her education in agriculture. LETTERS OF APPLICATION should be forwarded by MARCH 17, 2025. The John and Julie Thurman Agricultural Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior student who has demonstrated an interest in a career in agriculture through his or her course of study and extracurricular activities. Recipients will be required to attend either a two- or a four-year college or university as a full-time student and pursue a major course of study in agriculture or related subject matter.

Requirements: The Bill and Bertha Scheuber Vocational Scholarship, in the amount of $500, is open to graduating senior from a Stanislaus County high school planning to attend a four year institution, community college, or vocational/technical school.

The applicant must be planning a career in one of the major vocational areas of agriculture, business, health, home economics, industrial technology, or a related area.

• Be a U.S. citizen

• Be at least 17, and under 31 in year of commissioning

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent

• Take the current Army physical fitness test

• Meet the physical weight and height requirements

Turlock Garden Club

Requirements: To be eligible for the Turlock Garden Club scholarship, the student shall:

  1.   Be a student of Turlock, Pitman, Denair, Hughson, Hilmar High Schools, Turlock Christian School, or a Homeschooled student. Other applicants will also

       be considered.

   2.  Be a high school graduating senior or a full-time

        college student.

   3.  Be majoring in these disciplines:

            • Horticulture

            • Forestry    

            • Botany

            • Earth/Environmental Sciences    

            • Agronomy

   4.  Have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA for the two most

Requirements: 

• Grade level: Incoming freshman enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in 2020-21

  • Note: those pursuing health careers are not eligible (i.e. physician, nurse, pharmacist, dentist, etc.)

Quest Bridge Scholarship

Requirements: 

The National College Match is open to any high school senior currently attending high school in the U.S. Additionally, U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents living abroad are eligible for the program.

International students living outside the U.S. are not eligible.

From our founding over 30 years ago, QuestBridge has always been an organization focused on creating opportunities for students from low-income backgrounds, regardless of race, geography, or academic interest. Since our inception through today, no preference is given based on any protected characteristics (i.e., race, ethnicity, or gender). 

QuestBridge is looking for exceptionally talented high school seniors who come from low-income backgrounds. Generally, they:

• Earn primarily A's in the most challenging courses offered and demonstrate strong writing ability and intellectual curiosity.

• Come from a household earning less than $65,000 annually (for a household of four members) with minimal assets.

• Demonstrate resilience, integrity, and motivation to succeed.

American Legion Legacy Scholarship

Requirements: 

There are two groups of eligible recipients.

1. Children of U.S. military members who died while on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001.

Anthony Brucia Success Award

Requirements: Eligible seniors must attend a high schools within our region, which is comprised of these counties: Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, Monterey, San Benito, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Stanislaus, Tulare or Tuolumne. The award is intended for resilient students who have also made a turn-around in their lives. The kind of student we desire to recognize and honor is a young person who does not have a 4.0+ throughout four years of high school. We’re looking for a student who has recently overcome a lack of success, and/or who has had to struggle to maintain academic progress due to a variety of reasons. These include, but not limited to peer, personal or family stress. This award acknowledges and supports high school seniors who may have been burdened by “at risk” circumstances and/or may have “hit bottom,”….. but have now put things back together and show future promise!

Portuguese Education Foundation of Central California Scholarship

Requirements: 

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the following criteria:

1. Demonstrated academic ability.

2. Interest in learning the Portuguese language and culture as demonstrated by past or

present enrollment in a Portuguese language course, or participation in organized

Portuguese cultural activities.

3. Professional goals include working with the Portuguese community.

4. Applicants who live or were raised in the region of Central California (San Joaquin,

Stanislaus and Merced Counties) will have priority over applicants from other regions.

5. A student can only receive scholarships for five years for undergraduate study. He/she

may reapply for scholarships if she/he enrolls in graduate school.

Blue Diamond Growers Foundation

Requirements: 

1. The Blue Diamond Growers Scholarship has been established for promising young students from California who

plan to attend, or are attending, a college offering a four-year degree. Students transferring from a Community

or Junior College to a four-year university program are also eligible.

2. To be considered, the student must be from an almond producing area of California and must have the intent to

be a full-time student in a four-year college and have a major in selected fields of agriculture.

3. Candidates who are High School graduates, but have not yet enrolled in a four year university should have

achieved a 3.3 or higher grade point average during their high school career.

NWCA Scholarship 

Requirements: To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must be the child, grandchild, great-grandchild, or spouse of an enlisted (E1-E9) member of the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, active duty, retired, widow or widower. The applicant must show a basis of need for financial assistance, have a scholastic standing of at least 2.5 grade point average (GPA). The applicant must be accepted for admission to an accredited school. Further information on the qualifications for each scholarship and the application can be found on the NWCA website.

Requirements: Open to all legal United States residents in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands who are between 13 and 18 years of age and currently enrolled in high school as of date of Entry.
