Parent / Infant Swim Lessons

PARENT INFANT SWIM LESSONS WILL BEGIN MAY 21, 2024

Class information will also be posted to this website or to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/HudsonHSPool/

A parent or guardian is required to be in the water for part of each class, acting as a co-instructor.

The goal is to build confidence to ease the transition into independent lessons.

Students will be introduced to floating on their backs and front, jumping in unsupported and submerging. Toddlers enjoy exploring water activities that promote the development of arm and leg movements as well as breath control.

Lessons are taught in a fun-filled environment where students learn the basic techniques of swimming and safety skills are emphasized.

Age Group:

While it is difficult to place an age requirement on these type of lessons, ages generally run from 6 months old to 4 years old

While some infants may be able to come to lessons earlier than this, based on previous experience, 6 months old is the youngest age we will accept in the class.

Some children may need these lessons past the age of 4 years old which is acceptable

Each individual infant develops at a different rate which prevents us from setting an actual maximum age on the class

Classes are broken up by age range in order to keep similar ages and usually similar abilities together to ensure a safe environment for everybody to learn in

(This reduced splashing from older students effecting the younger students who may not be as comfortable)

The general rule of thumb is, if a infant is unable to participate in the water without a parent present or will not be able to concentrate in a setting without a parent present in the water with them, then this is the class to attend!
