During the school day, our campus is closed to everyone except for Hudson students, parents, staff, and persons having business with the administration or staff. Doors are locked during school hours, and visitors must sign in at the main office.
Please see our School Policies for information regarding safe arrival requirements, early departures, field trips, and off-campus privileges for Grade 7 and 8 students.
Parking is a challenge on Ascot Avenue, particularly at pick-up and drop-off times! We ask all families to follow the guidelines below and be respectful to our neighbours.
The front of school on Ascot Avenue is a 10-minute stopping zone. We ask parents to avoid lingering during busy arrival and dismissal times. The City of Toronto Parking Authority regularly tickets cars parked illegally on Ascot Avenue.
If your child is in Grades 5–8, we ask that you park further west on Ascot, or on a side street (St. Clair Gardens, Goodwood, Sellers, Day or Boon Avenue) and allow them to walk the short distance to school on their own, or accompany them to the entrance.
We encourage our Grade 7 and 8 students to learn to travel via the TTC. It allows for more family flexibility in terms of work and school schedules and provides more independence and better city awareness amongst students who travel to and from school themselves. Please see our TTC buddies sign-up.
Please do not park in front of the garage ramp as the parking garage is shared with Stella Maris staff and they exit the garage between 3:30 and 4:00 PM.
If you will be at the school for more than a few minutes, please park further west on Ascot Avenue, on a nearby side street (Boon Ave, Goodwood Ave, St Clair Gardens and Day Ave), or the Green P parking on Norton Avenue.

Students and parents can enter campus from 8:40 AM – 5:30 PM using the UniFi Identity app with the student’s Hudson email.
RFID tags ($50 each, available for sale from the Main Office) can be programmed to school accounts for those needing non-app access.
Please contact it@hudsoncollege.ca if you need help connecting to the app or email reset password instructions.
Workspace domain: hudsoncollege
Email: student’s Hudson email account
If a student does not already have a Hudson College email account, unique login details will be shared in August. Sign in and reset the password at gmail.hudsoncollege.ca.
JK–Grade 2 student accounts are primarily used for the door system. Parents do not need to share login information with their children.
Grade 3–6 students need to share and maintain login credentials with their parents for academic purposes and door system access.
All external emails sent to students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 are blocked. If a parent would like their child’s email to be whitelisted, please contact it@hudsoncollege.ca.
Students are required to wear only the designated Hudson school uniform on all school days from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (no exceptions, unless otherwise designated as school Dress Down Days) and on all Monday to Friday school-sponsored trips and/or activities. Teachers will not allow students to stay in the classroom if they are not following the dress code. Any student not following the dress code is subject to being sent home for the day. Repeated dress code violations will result in disciplinary action.
White shirts must be completely buttoned up at all times (except for the top button). Coats, hats, boots and similar types of outerwear are not to be worn inside except when arriving at or leaving school. Students must keep coats, jackets and other non-school outerwear in their lockers.
Student grooming should reflect a business-like manner. No dyeing of hair, body piercing or shaving one’s head is permitted while enrolled as a Hudson student. The Principal will be the arbitrator of proper grooming practices.
The Hudson gym uniform is required for gym and sport competitions. House shirts may not be worn.
Please label all uniform clothing. Misplaced items that are labelled are returned to the student or the class teacher, while unlabelled items are placed in the lost property closet on the first floor. Hudson also has a partnership with Mabel’s Labels; to order custom labels, go to campaigns.mabelslabels.com and choose “HUDSON COLLEGE” from the School/Organization list.
The Lost and Found closet is on the first floor, to the right of the main foyer.
DGN Kilters requires an appointment booking to visit their store in person; uniform items can also be ordered online or by phone at 1-800-437-5872.

How is the lunch served?
Students in JK–Grade 4 have lunches delivered to their classroom at the start of lunch hour. Students in Grade 5 and above go to a designated first-floor location to pick up their lunch and go back to their classroom. Condiments are included with each meal. To reduce waste, Lower School meals are served with reusable plates and cutlery.
Do I have to order every day?
No. You can order as little or as often as you like.
What about allergies and peanuts?
We follow a nut-aware school protocol in our kitchen (see Allergies and Restrictions below), but are unfortunately unable to accommodate special requests and substitutions.
What if my child is away?
Please log into your account to cancel at least 48 hours beforehand. Lunches not cancelled by this time will be charged and will remain on your account and be billed. If there are any issues, please contact lunch@hudsoncollege.ca.
Does Hudson provide snacks?
No; students should bring nut-free snacks from home.
Our school, including the kitchen, is a nut-aware environment. Parents and guardians are responsible for notifying Hudson of any changes in students’ allergic reactions. Students with known allergies, specifically food allergies, should be taught to always read food ingredient labels and not to accept or share food items with others.
Due to the limitations of our kitchen, we are unable to accommodate special requests or substitutions. If our current menu does not provide foods that meet a student’s needs and requirements, parents/guardians agree to provide meals and snacks from home for them.
Please ensure that all food brought to school is nut-free. If a student inadvertently brings a nut product to school, they should notify a teacher, who will dispose of the item.
Please encourage your child not to share any food items with classmates to help prevent unintentional allergic reactions.
Please ensure your child washes their hands prior to coming to school in case they may have eaten nut products at home.
Students are asked to wash their hands using antibacterial soap/hand sanitizer and water after lunch.
If a student is ever in doubt as to the contents of a food item from home, they should ask their teacher to check the list of ingredients before consuming the item.
We encourage students to sign up for a variety of sports teams, clubs and activities. These activities help students to learn new skills, cement friendships and gain confidence and self-esteem beyond academic pursuits. Our teachers act as mentors in clubs, sports and activities; we also engage community experts for some lunchtime activities and after-school programs. Club/after-school program sign-ups and any additional payments are managed by Google Forms or in QuickSchools.
The Small Schools Athletic Federation Waiver is required for all SSAF sports participation.
