Title IIA

Basic Description: Title IIA funds are federal funds with the purpose of building systems of support for excellent teaching and leading in schools.


Support for Educators

Title IIA funds may be used to support educators in providing high-quality teaching and learning. Important opportunities to support teachers include:

  • Mentoring programs

  • Meaningful evaluation programs/tools

  • Teacher and school leadership


Educator Equity

Title IIA funds may also be used to ensure that all students have access to excellent educators. Funding opportunities include:

  • Professional development for teachers and/or school leaders

  • School improvement initiatives

  • Reduction of class size


Support Effective Instruction

Title IIA funds may be used to improve the quality and effectiveness of schools. Opportunities include:

  • Identifying needs within the school and/or district

  • Researching and implementing researched based strategies to address identified needs
