Description of Council:

Yearly Goals:

The athletic council is a club that will involve every member in helping out to organize and set up major sports/athletic events here at HTS. Everyone will be given a role and we will provide everything needed for it to be a successful event. We will support charities and organizations with every gathering we help out with. Maya and I are very excited to make a big impact on the HTS community through athletics.

Instead of us creating and innovating new ideas created by the athletic council heads, we want the members to learn leadership skills by making their own ideas and, with our help, make them happen. This will allow more creativity and thinking for those who do create these ideas. We will make sure that we credit those people who have created those ideas. If we do not credit them, people would not know who created it.

We also want to create an environment so that other members of the council can lead activities during the year. This will bring new voices to lead and will allow those who lead to improve their leadership skills in a controlled environment with support. This can inspire those who do lead, to feel inspired to lead their own club/council in the future.

We want to make big events/initiatives memorable. Therefore, with the help of our council members, we will introduce smaller initiatives to raise money in order to fund larger events such as homecoming. For example, a students vs. teachers sports match with a small entry fee for supporters could be a fun and entertaining way to increase funds. Smaller events like those will be held and led by us as well as members of the council with the help of Ms. Thompson, chapel/assembly announcements and advertisements posted around the school.
