Q: How do I complete a Google Classroom assignment on a mobile device?

A: You will need the specific Google app installed on the device for the type of file you are trying to submit.  So if the assignment is a Google Doc, download the Google Docs app.  If it's a Google Slide, download the Google Slides app, etc.

Q: How do I install parental controls to keep my child off of certain websites?

A: Any school-issued device is filtered both in school and at-home.  This protects against most inappropriate content, but no filters are foolproof and often parents want to block specific sites that children just spend too much time on.  We recommend that parents work with their internet service providers to allow for more control over devices on a home network.  Comcast Xfinity customers should visit this page to learn more about their filtering solutions.  If you want additional security on your home network, there are many 3rd party programs and services out there to choose from.  Several families have reported that OpenDNS has met their needs, so this is one that we can also recommend.

Q: What if I do not have internet access at home?

If you are interested in obtaining affordable internet service at home, please check to see if you are eligible for Comcast's Internet Essentials program (Internet Económico en el hogar).

Q: How will issues of unacceptable use be handled?

In the same way that they are now. An infraction of a district policy is considered a discipline violation and handled accordingly on a case by case basis.

Most tech-related behavior violations are equivalent to “traditional” classroom violations:

The discipline policies at each school encompass the 1:1 environment. Please reference the materials specific to each school or contact the school directly for more information.
