In order to pass Kindergarten, your child must:

• Be reading at a level B (pass level A)
• Score a 90% in alphabet fundamental skills (naming the letters uppercase and lowercase, giving the sound the letter makes, and giving a word that begins with that letter)
• Score an 80% in sight words
• Score an 80% in counting, writing, and recognizing numbers 0-50
• Pass tests with a 70% or higher

*If your child does not meet the required skills, he/she will be scoring a 2 or 1 on his/her progress report or report card. I will conference with you. Your child may be put on the retention list and his/her case may be brought to Care Team (a group of professional teachers in the building who can recommend additional resources/strategies for the classroom teacher).

1- 69% and below
