The Friday before your child is “Star of the Week” I will send home a poster that you and your child need to fill out and decorate. Please send back the poster on Monday. "Star of the Week" allows each child a chance to have his or her own special week to be recognized by the entire class.
Monday: Display your child’s poster.
Tuesday: “Compliment Day” in which students take turns giving the “Star” compliments.
Wednesday: Classmates ask “favorite questions” of the “Star.” Questions such as “What is your favorite ____________(color, book, song, movie, food, toy, etc.)?”. We will use these answers to make a book about the “Star Student".
Thursday: “Star of the Week” book show and tell. On this day your child will be allowed to bring in his or her favorite book for show and tell. We will read the book at the end of the day.
Friday: We will make the "Star of the Week" book for the "Star" student. Each student will illustrate and write one page for the book. When the book is complete, we will share it with the class and the “Star” will keep his or her new book.
