Overview: The middle school volleyball program is designed to introduce and develop volleyball skills while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive competitive experience. Athletes progress through age-appropriate skill development and game concepts as they advance through each grade level.
5th/6th Grade Volleyball
At the 5th and 6th grade level, the focus is on learning the fundamentals of volleyball in a supportive and encouraging environment. Players are introduced to basic skills such as serving, passing, setting, and hitting while developing coordination, communication, and an understanding of the rules of the game. Emphasis is placed on participation, skill growth, teamwork, and building confidence.
7th Grade Volleyball
The 7th grade program builds upon fundamental skills and introduces more advanced techniques and game strategies. Athletes continue to refine serving, passing, setting, attacking, and defensive play while learning offensive and defensive systems. Teamwork, court awareness, and consistent execution become key areas of development as players prepare for increased competition.
8th Grade Volleyball
At the 8th grade level, athletes are challenged to perform at a higher level of competition while further developing their technical skills and volleyball IQ. Practices focus on advanced team strategies, position-specific responsibilities, leadership, and game management. Players are encouraged to compete with confidence, demonstrate strong sportsmanship, and prepare for the transition to high school volleyball.
