*Parent communication is required throughout SSP, however, it is not necessary to use all the tools provided. Each school should choose the system that works best for them.

Attendance FYI:

"A parent, guardian, or student has the right to request an evaluation for Special Education eligibility, or if the student already is eligible for Special Education, request an Individual Education Plan (IEP) meeting to review the plan if you believe absences are the result of a disability or suspected disability" -ODE


For Students at Step 2 with Attendance Concerns: Discuss with family if anxiety is the possible cause of absenteeism and if yes, ensure interventions address this. Ask Student Services Directors for ideas if needed.
