Manitoba has over 50 different trades that students could apprentice in. This provides a way for students to explore and pursue careers.

Apprenticeship Manitoba Trade Sectors

Industrial Trades: Skilled tradespeople work at industrial sites. They build and take care of machines and parts used in industrial and consumer products. They use machinery and tools to complete their work.

Transportation Trades: Fix and maintain cars, trucks, agricultural equipment, heavy equipment and their parts. Training ranges from 2-4 years.

Construction Trades: Build schools, hospitals, offices, apartments, and houses. Work also includes painting, roofing, and finishing. Training ranges from 3-4 years.

Service Trades: Provide service to the public. Sample jobs include cook, hairstylist, and landscape technicians. Training ranges from 2-3 years.
