Dear Middle School Students, Families, and Staff,
As the leaves change and we welcome the cooler weather, we also usher in the season of gratitude and reflection here at the middle school. November is a unique month, offering us a natural pause before the final stretch of the calendar year. I hope this message finds your family well and looking forward to the upcoming holidays. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued partnership throughout the first three months of the school year. The engagement and support from our parent community are invaluable to our students’ success. As we launch into a new quarter with your students, please stop by the link here to celebrate our S.O.A.R Golden Ticket Winners from Quarter 1. I want to draw your attention to a new tracking system that you can utilize at home to support your students. Each week, on Monday mornings, teachers will update their Week at a Glance with homework, upcoming assessments, and topics for the day. Please note that this may be adjusted given student learning outcomes and classroom disruptions, but will give you a general idea of what your students are working on. If you have specific questions, you will then be able to email the teachers directly for support. Your students will also have a link on their log screen to access. This will also be available on the BMS website.
November also brings with it one of the most significant holidays of the year: Thanksgiving. As a school, we recognize the importance of this holiday as a time for family, reflection, and gratitude. The break from November 26 to November 30 offers a much-needed opportunity for students to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones.
Looking ahead, the end of November quickly leads us into December and the various winter holidays. Please take note of our upcoming calendar for early dismissal days, parent-teacher conference sign-ups, and winter concerts or events. Our goal is to maintain academic momentum through the holiday season while fostering a positive and inclusive environment. Thank you once again for your dedication to your student's education. Wishing you and your family a safe, restful, and joyous Thanksgiving holiday.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership in your student's education!
Best regards,
Ryan Crete, Principal - Baldwin Street Middle School

Here are the details about using SchoolBookings:
You will need to know your child's schedule and which teachers they have. This can be found in PowerSchool. Contact the office if you are having trouble logging in.
Helpful tips / reminders
Conferences are 5 minutes in length, unless different arrangements have been made with the teacher. It's important that you arrive on time so that the whole session can be used to discuss your child's progress. It is also very important to end the session on time in order to provide the next session their full allotted time.
Conferences will be held in the BMS gymnasium. Once you sign up, you will receive an email with specific instructions for the day of your conference.
Do NOT delete your confirmation email you receive after booking your conferences. You will need to use this link to make changes if necessary.
If you are having trouble scheduling conferences, please contact the office at 616-669-7750 and we will be happy to help.
Please take a few moments to review the information regarding the books in our library and the policies and procedures around restricting titles for your children.
Students won't be able to check out another book until they return or replace an overdue book.
November 18th-20th during Parent-Teacher Conferences
If you would be interested in volunteering at the book fair, we are looking for volunteers on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of that week from 10:45 am - 12:30 pm and during conference times. Please email Christine Banach.
As a reminder, each quarter we recognize our students for modeling what it means to be an Eagle. Students are selected for this honor based on the criteria below. This week we passed out Renaissance Blue stickers to our students that met the criteria below for quarter 2. All students that qualified for Gold status at the beginning of the year were also given an opportunity to pick up their punch card that can be used at the Business of the Month. Please reach out to your child's counselor if you have any questions regarding Renaissance.
